The following agencies may assist you with providing or locating resources in your area. You may find
additional information to help that is specific to your area in

Childcare:
  • Childcare Development Fund (CCDF) is a federal program that assists low-income families, families
    receiving temporary public assistance, and those transitioning from public assistance in obtaining
    childcare so they can work, attend training, or continue education.

Housing

Utilities/Energy
  • Energy Assistance Program (EAP) through Indiana Community Action Association provides
    assistance with utility (lights and gas) bills every winter season to those families who qualify for
    assistance and/or during the summer months by providing $50 towards electricity bill, box fan or
    air-conditioner. Contact 317-638-4232 or 800-382-9895 to find the program nearest you.
  • Lifeline/Link Up-Provides qualified consumers with a discount on monthly charges for their primary
    home phone line or cell phone and lowers the cost that consumers pay for setting up new phone
    service for home or cell service. Eligible individuals must be at or below 135% Federal Poverty Level
    or eligible for a government assistance program. For additional information, contact 888-441-2494

  • Comcast Internet Essentials will provide eligible families with: Affordable home Internet service
    ($9.95 per month); A low-cost computer ($149.99 plus taxes), Access to free internet training;
    online, in print and in classroom (at established community training sites)
      
Various/Basic:
  • Indiana's Food for the Hungry-Food Assistance Program provides food assistance to families in
    need.
  • Feeding America-Local Food Bank Locator.
  • Salvation Army-Indiana offers several different programs depending on the area in which you live.
    Some vary from homeless shelter assistance to adult/elder support while others offer financial
    assistance to help with housing costs (rent/mortgage), utilities, medical or prescription co-pays or
    transportation (vehicle repairs/bus tickets). Call 317-937-7000 or 800-589-1037
  • Township Trustees assists eligible township residents with food, medical care, clothing, household
    goods, shelter, school clothing, utilities, limited transportation, fuel oil, coal, and burial expense.
  • Call 2-1-1 from your phone to be connected with someone who can locate community services for
    you.

Employment:
  • ShareNetwork is a free, online, statewide Resource Directory created to help Hoosiers find a job,
    keep a job, or obtain a better job. SHARE Network is an online database of resources available to
    the public that can be used to help meet employment goals. Resource searches are based upon the
    service, its location/county, or provider name.
  • Living Well with a Psychiatric Disability in Work and School from Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation
    is an interactive and informative web site for people with a psychiatric condition that addresses
    issues and  reasonable accommodations related to work and school.
