Key Consumer Organization offers self-help for persons with mental or emotional illness to help each other
through emotional support, advocacy and support groups. The goals are to empower and strengthen mental
health consumers by working toward better treatment, improved insurance, reduced stigma and greater

Mental Health America of Indiana (MHAI) By providing education and information to the general public about
mental health and addictive disorders, the Association strives to spread understanding and awareness. By
providing a strong affiliate system across the state, the Association can lend a grass roots voice to issues
that confront us. By providing advocacy at the state and local levels, the Association is able to bring about
policy change. And through subsidiary organizations, the Association is able to be involved in all aspects of
mental health.
National Alliance for Mental Illness-Indiana (NAMI) is a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to
improving the lives of people afflicted by serious and persistent mental illness. NAMI Indiana consists of

- Ombudsman provides information, answers questions and assists callers in need of mental health
service. Each affiliate provides a number of different programs and/or trainings, depending on area.
