Governor’s Planning Council for People with Disabilities
  • Consumer Investment Fund allows the Council to invest resources in people with disabilities and family members to
    enable them to attend and participate in events that reflect the “community inclusion” mission of the Council. The
    Council expects a return on its investment in the form of your increased knowledge about issues and a commitment,
    from you and others who attended, to share information with others, and to participate in community activities that will
    contribute to the independence, productivity, integration and inclusion of people with disabilities. Contact 317-232-7770

IEP-Parent Counseling and Training
  • Parent Counseling and Training-Provides trainings to caregivers under a child’s “IEP” that assists parents in
    understanding the special needs of their child, provides parents with information about child development, and helps the
    parents acquire the necessary skills that will allow them to support the implementation of their child’s IEP or IFSP.
    Discuss with your child’s case conference committee and add into the Individualized Education Plan.

Family Voices
  • Family Leadership Development Fund will assist families to participate in activities (public forums and meetings, task
    forces and work groups, etc.) that are intended to solicit public/consumer input and perspective concerning disability-

  • If you find a training that you are interested in attending, ask them if they have scholarships or cheaper
    rates/reductions for you to attend as a (consumer, family member, parent, etc)
